GoalTallyWhat stays on your device
GoalTally runs entirely in your browser. Session data, graphs, data sheet settings, saved goals, recorded sessions and any logo you upload are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They are never sent to our servers or anyone else's. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so download an encrypted backup if you want to keep them.
For offline use, the site's own files (pages, scripts and styles) are cached by your browser. Your data isn't part of that cache.
Encrypted backups
Backups are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM, using a key derived from your passphrase with PBKDF2-SHA-256 (310,000 iterations). We never see the file or the passphrase, so we can't recover a lost passphrase.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and a few anonymous events, such as “a graph was exported as PDF” or “a frequency sheet was downloaded”. It's cookie-free, doesn't track you across sites, and never includes anything you type: no initials, goals, data or file contents.
Student information
Use initials rather than full names. GoalTally makes no claim of FERPA, HIPAA or other regulatory compliance; how you store devices and printed sheets is governed by your school's or organization's policies.
Terms
GoalTally is provided “as is”, without warranty. It's a calculation and formatting tool, not clinical or educational advice. You're responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and the decisions you make with it. GoalTally is free to use for personal, educational and commercial work. Exported graphs and sheets include a small credit line.
